Do I need to install anything?

Is this an accounting package? Will it file my GST returns?

No, and deliberately so. Senni maintains the record and hands it to your chartered accountant in the form they require. Filing, input tax credit matching and returns remain with them, which is their profession and they do it better.

Will it read handwritten bills and small slips?

Usually, yes. When it cannot, it says so and shows you the photograph rather than recording an incorrect figure. A bill that could not be read is still filed and still searchable; it is simply not counted until you confirm what it says.

What is the point of the notes and reminders?

Most of what you need later was never written on a bill. A damaged delivery, a rate that changed, a promise made on the phone. Senni keeps those against the supplier they concern, so when you ask what is owed you also get what was said.

How many people can use it?

Three, including you. Each of the three can send bills and voice notes from their own phone, and each can open the books. A fourth person is ₹99 a month. We keep it to a number rather than leaving it open because every bill sent is real work done on our side, and a price that pretends otherwise is a price that has to change later.

Can the others see what I pay everyone?

No. Salary and advance figures are visible to the proprietor alone, whatever else somebody has been given access to.

What happens to my data if I leave?

It belongs to you, and you have 180 days from the day the account closes to download it — the ledger, the reports and every original you sent. Export it yourself from Reports, or write to us and we will send the lot. After 180 days we close your access. Records themselves are retained for the period Indian tax law requires, which is six years for books of account.

How is this different from a khata app or a spreadsheet?

Those require you to stop and enter data, which is precisely the moment a business owner does not have. Senni takes what you are already sending — a forwarded bill, a voice note — and does the recording itself.
